Time Intermittent

for solo multiple percussion

Time Intermittent utilizes a mirrored setup with a bongo, concert tom, metal pipe and woodblock on either side of the performer. The instruments on the right side of the setup should be slightly higher pitches than their counterparts on the left side. Each side of the setup is utilized by only one hand and a central snare drum is shared by both. The notation of the piece reflects this setup by using regular and empty noteheads to designate which hand performed each note. Sometimes the hands work together to create a linear melody while other times the hands perform seemingly unrelated parts.
